It's a lovely sunny day!

So I'm going to spend it making rain...

Animated rain drops, masked into the puddles, on a tri-planar material.

That actually worked a load better than I expected.

TIL, scrolling noise in a light function material makes for surprisingly effective animated cloud shadows...

The bonus of doing this work to blend the rain in and out -- and basically have all the params in an MPC -- I now have a big "make it rain" lever.

Might have certain times of day dry and others wet. Dunno.


Added lightning bolts!

One directional light, with a random rotation. Timeline controls the intensity and the Post Process Volume's saturation levels.

Audio's spawned in the opposite direction, delayed. The delay modulates the distance.

Works way better than I thought it would. :)
